I’m calling it day 11.. It’s easier for me to get my head around
It was hard to get out of bed this morning. I didn’t feel great and when I headed down for breakfast I could only stomach one mini croissant. The temperature had also dropped to just above freezing and I went into the ride with completely the wrong mind-set.
It was hard, all day. The weather was dull as was the scenery and I was constantly lacking in energy.
When I stopped for lunch I hit a really low point and was almost falling asleep whilst eating. Luckily, I managed to eat enough of the meal (which quite frankly was disgusting) to get myself back on the bike.
The final 40 miles did not pass quickly but they were slightly better than the morning. I’m absolutely shattered now so hopefully a good sleep will bring me up a bit!
Having said that, once again, I could barely eat any dinner. I’m currently eating less than I would on a normal day so I’m really hoping this wears off quickly.
Riding stats:
Distance: 101.97 miles / 164.1 km
Riding Time: 6:54:03
Av. Speed: 14.8mph / 23.7kph
I am beginning to believe you are super human Tom, you are making me feel decidedly unfit. Hope you are feeling better after a good nights sleep. Cheers Fraser

Tom, Spoke to Mum twice today to get the news. I have experienced this sort of thing many times so I can feel for you. One thing and this is a genuine medical remedy, starvation is the real answer but, you can eat an apple.preferably, not a sharp one, although if there is no alternative carry some sugar with you,a great energy giver it won’t upset your food regime. Sorry if I sound like Mum but where you are make sure to wash fruit even under a tap it’s better than nothing. Hope it goes off soon. Keep safe Love from Grandma & Granddad

keep at it Tom, there’s lots of us here at home willing you on. You must eat well (yes, I’m a mum too) and that will keep your spirits up. Things will get better, the weather will get warmer and the scenery will get brighter. Make sure your camera is working well!!
